Readings are coordinated through course calendar. Most readings are either in our text, some are articles in York E-journals or E-books. A few are from other resources. For many students (but unfortunately not for all, due to mysterious forces of the universe, that I can not get to the bottom of) the e-journals are accessible as clickable links in the calendar, as long as the student is logged into York E-resources through the York Library.. If the clickable links are not working please see procedures to the right.
If for some reason, readings are not accessible through these means then, they will be accessible via this page. Articles from non text, non York resources will be accessible here.
For any article from York E-resources that is proving troublesome to access, please contact the course instructor.Students are asked to honour York academic integrity policies around all articles.
Finding articles on York E-resources (not e-books)
If your reading is in York Library E-resources, and not listed as an e-book it is a journal article that might be accessible through a simple click on the link in the course calendar after you have logged into the York E-resource section of the York Library using your account access info. If this does not work, then you need to access the article by copying the title, staying logged into York E-resources, doing a basic search for scholars portal journals (a database) first. Once you have found this resource, and accessed it - a search line should come up, here you paste your title in, making sure to choice title in the drop down beside the search line. This should bring up the article and its pdf file. You can also search by the author if the title is not working (and sometimes you need to get rid of the punctuation in the title especially quote marks). If this is not working make sure it is not an e-book. If all of these have failed then contact myself or your TA.
Using York E-books
Some of your readings are in e-books instead of journals. These e-books are findable by putting the title in a basic search in the York Library basic search. Once you find the e-book and access it - you can find the chapter you want by expanding the often truncated content lines given.
